The Nurse Clinician utilizes discretion and independent judgment to provide developmentally appropriate and age-specific (infant, toddler, preschooler, school-age, adolescent, young adult, adult) direct and indirect patient care and treatment management. Utilizes disease-specific knowledge base and the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation) to provide whole person care in the outpatient environment. Ensures continuity of care across the continuum, e.g., pre-admission and post hospitalization. Collaborates with other healthcare team members and participates in team conferences to coordinate implementation of treatment plan recommendations. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.
Baccalaureate Degree in nursing required. Two years experience in clinical nursing and one year experience in specialty required. One year of the required experience shall have been in providing nursing care for patients with the diseases(s) or related condition(s) for which the dept specializes in. California Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other certification(s) as indicated in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care.
