Job Summary:

This position will support LLUSS's strategic plan and the organization's mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, while embracing the core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Wholeness. The Clinical Nurse, Supplemental Staffing Network, is a nurse with at least two years of experience and is classified as a per diem employee and works less than an average of 24 hours per week. May work in any licensed facility under Loma Linda University Health (LLUH). Submits work schedule availability and preferred department(s) within designated time frames. Functions in a patient-centered care model of practice and performs the nursing process independently. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in an area of specialty. Embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care. Functions in a skills mix environment and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff. Meets qualifications, licensure/certifications, and competencies as defined in the unit/department-specific Plan for Providing Care. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. May be required to serve in shift coordinator role upon completion of shift coordinator orientation. Performs other duties as needed.

Job Specifications:

Minimum of Associate Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or enrolled in BSN program preferred. Two years clinical nursing experience in respective area required. Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification as required in the Department Plan for Providing Care and may be obtained during orientation process.
